He may be gone but Cory Monteith is still living on in his work.
A new promotional still from the late Glee star’s final film McCanick was released this week following news the crime drama will be making its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. Barely recognizable in long locks, Monteith played Simon Weeks in the movie, a drug-addicted street hustler whose release from prison triggers a manhunt.
The actor was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room July 14 from an overdose of heroin and alcohol. He was 31.
This Sunday, Monteith’s Glee co-star and girlfriend, Lea Michele, dedicated her Teen Choice Award for TV Actress – Comedy to the late actor, saying in her acceptance speech:
For all of you out there who loved and admired Cory as much as I did, I promise that with your love, we’re gonna get through this together. He was very special to me, and also to the world, and we were very lucky to witness his incredible talent, his handsome smile and his beautiful, beautiful heart.
