Get Ready for Another British Invasion: Hulu and BBC Announce Exclusive Deal

Hulu has announced a deal with the BBC to air stream hundreds of BBC shows in the U.S.

Hulu and the BBC (the beeb if you’re feeling posh or whatever) announced a major partnership Wednesday in which hundreds of BBC shows will stream on Hulu Plus. This includes current shows like Luther, Sherlock, Doctor Who and Top Gear, but also classics like Fawlty Towers and Upstairs, Downstairs.

The complete BBC library is so massive that Hulu is launching it in stages, the first episodes are available right now.

Sept. 18

  • Doctor Who (to celebrate the show’s 50th anniversary, more than 170 episodes are available to stream)
  • The Sarah Jane Adventures
  • Torchwood
  • Life on Mars
  • Primeval
  • Robin Hood
  • Day of the Triffids
  • Red Dwarf

Sept. 24

  • Sherlock (starring Benedict Cumberbatch)

  • House of Cards Trilogy (the show that inspired the U.S. version)
