10 Reasons Being Batman Would Totally Suck

Batman is one of the world’s most famous and most popular heroes. Many of us have fantasized at one point or another about putting on the cape and cowl and standing up for all that is right in the name of good.

It would be awesome wouldn’t it? Driving around the Batmobile, beating up bad guys, saving the world, hooking up with chicks in skin tight costumes… Sounds like an awesome life and surely everything that was mentioned in the previous sentence would be a marked improvement on even the best of our lives.

If only it were that easy.

Things never go smooth for any hero and Batman is no exception. As a matter of fact things often go worse for Batman than most other heroes. As far as luck goes Batman without a doubt has absolutely terrible luck. Things never seem to go the poor guys way no matter how hard he tries.

What people fail to understand is that putting on the cape and cowl and inheriting the ability to parade around like a total bad ass comes with quite the price. Things aren’t ever sunshine and rainbows in the world of Batman. Being Batman seems like it would be great but when you really dig deep you can see that it would actually kind of suck. Let’s take a look at a few reasons why.

George Clooney Admits He Was a Really Terrible Batman

Well, that only took 16 years.

Possibly the worst Batman of all time, George Clooney, has finally seen the light, admitting to Empire that he did ruin it for everyone when he took on the Caped Crusader in 1997 s much-derided Batman & Robin.

When the movie magazine asked what advice he would give Ben Affleck, who will star as the DC Comic superhero in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel, the Oscar winner said:

I am the least qualified person to comment on anyone playing the role of Batman since I so terribly destroyed the part.

Seriously, who thought putting nipples on the Batsuit was a good idea?

The actor added, “I tend to look at it like this – let’s just see what the movie is before everyone starts beating him up. He is a smart man, he knows what he is doing.”

That is, if Affleck can handle the disgruntled fans.

The Argo actor recently admitted on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon that he wasn’t ready for the Batfleck backlash.

“[Warner Bros.] said, ‘Just don’t use the Internet for a couple days,’ and I said, ‘I handle sh*t. I’m very tough,'” he said. “So I saw the announcement, I look on this thing, I look down at the first comment – it’s like, ‘Ben Affleck is going to be Batman,’ – the first one just goes ‘Nooooooo!’

“So we’re going to be luddites for a while, kids!”
