With a name like Duke and parents who love the Colorado Rockies, the 10-month-old son of Bill and Giuliana Rancic is clearly a mountain man in the making.
The reality television stars made sure Duke spent his first Fourth of July at 8,000 feet at the base of the famed ski slopes of Vail, Colo., but he wasn’t exactly roughing it. The couple checked into a posh apartment in the Ritz-Carlton Residences, using it as a base camp for a number of high-alpine adventures.
“We’re a very active couple, Bill and I; we love to be outside,” Giuliana tells PEOPLE. “We love the sun and being out in nature, so we want Duke to grow up hopefully with that love of nature and being outdoors as well.”
Plopping 25-pound Duke in a baby backpack, the Rancics hiked Berry Picker Trail to the top of Vail Mountain (at more than 11,000 feet), lunched on pulled pork sandwiches (Duke had a bottle) and rode the Eagle Bahn Gondola back down to the Bavarian-style ski village.
The Rancics also planned a Jeep ride 15 miles up to Piney Ranch, where Bill used to vacation in the summers when he was young, riding horses, hiking and exploring Piney Lake.
“I started skiing when I was four, so [Duke’s] going to be skiing at a really early age,” Bill says. “I’m all about exposing him [to outdoor sports] at an early age. You’ve got to teach him at an early age and then they don’t have any fear. That was the best thing my parents did for me. I was river rafting in Colorado, skiing – we did it all.”
In Vail, the family did some more sedate things, like taking in the ski town’s annual Fourth of July Parade and strolling and biking the area’s numerous trails. They didn’t, however, break any news about a sibling for Duke.
“We’ve always said that we’d love to have another [child] and we’d love them to be close in age, but it’s a major commitment and we want to make sure that our lives, our schedule will allow us to be able to give our kids 110 percent,” Giuliana explains.
That said, the couple do maintain a relationship with the local woman who carried their first child for them after infertility, a miscarriage and cancer diagnosis left them at a loss.
“We do try to see her whenever we come into town,” Bill says of the gestational carrier, who was traveling out of town herself this trip. “We come [here] quite often because Giuliana’s cancer doctor is in Denver and so we have to go for checkups on a regular basis.”
Giuliana and Bill premieres July 16 at 8 p.m. on Style.

There’s nothing like sweet music to spark the romance, but dad-to-be Michael Bubl would take a bawling baby to heat things up with wife Luisana any day.
“I’m more in love with my wife than I ever was,” the singer-songwriter tells Entertainment Tonight Canada Tuesday.
But only recently did Bubl , 37, learn the real reason behind their successful relationship.
“I had my mom and dad over the other night and … I asked them, ‘How do [you] do it?’ My dad said, ‘I love your mom a lot, but the key is I like her,’” he says.
“We fight … but we like each other. Honestly, I never had a woman in my life where I didn’t need anyone else. I didn’t need to go on holiday with another couple — just with her, she drives me nuts enough.”
Currently pregnant with the couple’s first child, Luisana’s cravings are nothing short of crazy, says Bubl .
“Some women crave pickles or ice cream. My wife wants blood sausages. Sausage made of congealed blood,” he shares. “And I promise you, she hated it her whole life and now she said, ‘Mike, I want some blood sausage,’ and it’s like, ‘What the hell?’”
From keeping up with Luisana’s cravings to prepping for parenthood, Bubl has been busy with it all — thanks to a few changes to the singer’s touring schedule.
“I used to go for a month and a half or a month and then I would take a week off. And now the schedule is three weeks on, two weeks off,” he says.
Noting that while his career is “important,” the first-time father clarifies that his personal life will always take priority over any professional commitments.
“I just don’t want to look back and say, ‘God, I should have been there more,’ because I have a feeling that I’ll never look back and say, ‘Jeez, I should have worked more,’” Bubl explains.

For Karol na Kurkov , there was no place like home to welcome her first child.
Setting up a birthing suite in the comforts of her Tribeca apartment, the model mama admits her motivation behind her decision to deliver naturally was simple: childbirth is nothing new.
“Of course we had the midwife, we had the doula, but that’s something we really did a lot of research on and we wanted to do,” Kurkov , 28, tells Access Hollywood Live. “We wanted to do it in our home where I felt comfortable.”
“[For] centuries, women have been giving birth naturally and I think your body adjusts to it and you get into a zone.”
Her active labor lasted 2 hours — a process she calls “quite quick” — and, by keeping her concentration on seeing her son, little time was left to think of the pain.
“It’s not like, ‘Oh my God, it’s a pain. I’m dying, I’m dying,’” the supermodel coach of The Face says. “It was so gradual you just kind of deal with it. You get in a zone, you really focus on helping this child to come out.”
With her husband Archie Drury preparing “green juice and coconut water” to keep his wife hydrated, it wasn’t long before Kurkov ’s midwife let her know baby boy was on his way.
“I really wanted to do it in the water because it’s better for the baby to be born in the water — from water to water — and it’s less painful for the mom,” she explains of her decision to deliver in a birthing pool.
“When he’s born in the water, there’s still the umbilical cord so until you clip it they can still breathe through it. He was born in the water [then] we put him on my chest.”
Recalling the big day as an “incredible experience” Kurkov will “absolutely” do it all over again — eventually. Until then, now 3-year-old Tobin Jack has all his mama’s attention.
“I want to enjoy [Tobin] first and learn everything and really spend time with him,” she explains.

Kristin Cavallari is one lucky mom!
The former reality star says that even though son Camden Jack is currently teething, he hasn’t been crying at all.
“He’s such a good baby,” Cavallari, 26, tells PEOPLE while promoting her new GlamBoutique jewelry line with partner Pascal Mouawad.
“I was just getting curious, so I put my finger in his mouth to feel around. I felt it and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh!’ We wouldn’t have even known that he was getting his first tooth [otherwise].”
Turns out Cam isn’t wasting any time making use of his brand new assets.
“He started eating food a couple of weeks ago, which has been so much fun,” explains Cavallari.
“He’s had everything: peas, broccoli, zucchini, carrots and avocados. He absolutely loves avocados!”
The designer, who also has a line of footwear through Chinese Laundry, says her baby boy is starting to show his personality — and he’s a perfect mix of her and her fianc Jay Cutler.
“He’s a really good combination,” she notes. “He’s always laughing and smiling, and in a good mood unless he’s tired, which is like me! The only way to describe him is the word ‘sweetheart.’”
While she’s loving motherhood, Cavallari is looking forward to spending some quality time with her Chicago Bears quarterback beau on Valentine’s Day.
“I’m just going to cook dinner. It’s going to be a very low-key, romantic evening, which — for being parents — sounds amazing to both of us,” she jokes. “[We’re looking forward to] being in bed early and getting a good night’s sleep!”

Michelle Williams has never been one to look to the outside world for a seal of approval — until now.
In the March issue of InStyle, the actress admits she forever cherishes the unwavering support she has received since going public with her relationship with actor Jason Segel.
“If people are happy about it that makes me feel good because in my head the opposite is often true — that people fault or blame you for things,” Williams, 32, says.
“That’s really painful. You wish they would just want you to be happy, for your kid to be happy, and for you to have a good life and do good work.”
She adds: “Any kind sentiment that the world can feed back, well, I won’t turn it down.”
Along with Matilda Rose, the actress’s daughter with the late Heath Ledger, the couple now share an apartment in Brooklyn, cozy quarters filled with bean bags, book nooks and plenty of priceless pieces.
“I keep things for sentimental reasons. I’ve kept all of Matilda’s baby clothes. even the ones with stains and rips,” Williams says.
And as she creates a space that enables her daughter to always “curl up with a book,” the Oz: The Great and Powerful star finds nothing compares to her happiness as a stay-at-home mom — at least for now.
“I cook and clean a lot these days. I’m in a very domestic cycle and I happen to love it,” Williams explains.
“I feel like this is a real expression of my love for my daughter. Not the only one, but an important one. As a parent, you want the kid to come back to a place where it seems like the walls are made of feather down.”
And while she’s fiercely protective of Matilda, seemingly succeeding in keeping her out of the spotlight, the 7-year-old still manages to catch glimpses of Hollywood’s glitz and glamour — even if it’s not in the most flattering forms.
“The other day I was with my daughter at a newsstand and she turned to me and said, ‘Mommy, why do all those ladies have their boobs out?’” Williams shares. “And I was going to talk about the power dynamic and society, but I just said, ‘Sweetie, I really just don’t know.’ She just wagged her little head.”
From her personal life to her professional success, life has come full circle for Williams — and she’s seizing each moment of sheer happiness that comes her way.
“The other day I was out there all bundled up and the sun was shining and I realized I was smiling in a way I hadn’t in a long time,” she notes. “The roses in my cheeks weren’t from makeup for once. It was a perfect moment.”

Having grown up with three of them, Tom Brady knows the value of having a sister — and is thrilled for his sons that they get to experience it.
The New England Patriots quarterback hopes it helps John, 5, and Benjamin, 3, “understand at least a little bit about what makes a woman tick — not that I can certainly figure that out, because I can’t. She’s a beautiful little girl.”
With his ever-growing brood, Brady, 35, is settling into a nice work-life balance with wife Gisele B ndchen.
“I love playing football. I love coming to work every day,” he says. “But also, being at home, and giving those boys my attention, and my affection, and my discipline, and being a good parent is so important, because I grew up with two of the best parents a son could ever ask for.”

It seems as if Michelle Branch‘s daughter won’t be following in her musical footsteps any time soon.
While the Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter and her husband, bass player Teddy Landau, are no strangers to the stage, 7-year-old Owen Isabelle has found her niche in nature.
“Since she was 3 or 4 years old, she was always into science and dinosaurs and watching nature shows.”
In particular, all-things aviary has struck a chord with the little girl, who has already happily declared her future dream job.
“She’s obsessed with birds. She’s been begging to have a pet bird, which I will not allow,” saya Branch. “[Owen] claims she’s going to be an ornithologist when she grows up. Literally, it’s birds 24/7 — every book she wants is birds, stickers, drawings, clothes, everything.”
And as sure as she is of her pending career plans, Owen is just as confident in her political views. Happy to reveal who would have earned her support, the little girl has no qualms about divulging the deciding factor during the recent Presidential election.
“Around election time she said, ‘You know Mom, if I could vote, I would vote for Barack Obama.’ And I said, ‘Oh, really, that’s so interesting. Why?’” Branch recalls.
“And she said, ‘Well, remember that one time we got to go to the White House and meet him? I don’t vote for strangers.’”
