Raven-Symon has, for years, played coy about her sexual orientation. Though it’s been rumored for years that the former Disney Channel star is a lesbian, she’s never confirmed it until now. Maybe?
I can finally get married! Yay government! So proud of you
– Raven-Symon (@MissRavenSymone) August 2, 2013
First of all, it’s not exactly a direct statement; Raven doesn’t explicitly state that she is a lesbian. It’s also not clear exactly what motivated this tweet. The most recent news on same-sex marriage came Thursday, a full 24 hours before Raven’s tweet, when Minnesota became the latest U.S. state to perform same-sex marriages. Raven does not live in Minnesota, nor is she originally from The Land of 10,000 Lakes.
Raven has previously addressed rumors about her sexuality. Just last year, she tweeted:
I’m living my PERSONAL life the way I’m happiest. I’m not one, in my 25 year career to disclose who I’m dating. and I shall not start now. My sexual orientation is mine, and the person I’m datings to know. I’m not one for a public display of my life.
As if to clarify, Raven retweeted several fans who said, “She been out, momma just didn’t have time for bullshit. and I LIVVVEEE” and “Can I have your spot in the Cheetah Girls? Disney might not like you anymore.”
Congratulations (maybe?), Raven!
With everyone all up in arms over Miley Cyrus’ new party anthem “We Can’t Stop” and its subsequent twerk-happy video, a sensitive reporter for MTV News decided to probe fellow-Disney alum and former party girl Demi Lovato to get her thoughts on the controversy.
“I think it’s a good song. She knows how I feel about the whole partying thing,” Lovato said during a recent interview.
The 20-year-old singer, who in 2010 completed a highly publicized stint in rehab for drugs and other issues, continued:
I care for her so much that I’m, like, so protective. But she’s good. She’s got a good head on her shoulders. It’s a song that a lot of people have fun to, and if people are enjoying it, then great.
“I love her to death,” she added a bit earlier. “And I’m always like, ‘Just be careful.’ And she’s like, ‘Dude, I’m chilling. It’s fine.'”
Well, in that case.

Showing a rare sign of self-awareness, Johnny Depp on Monday hinted to BBC he’s thinking about retiring from acting relatively soon.
“When you add up the amount of dialogue that you say per year, for example, and you realize that you’ve said written words more than you’ve actually had a chance to say your own words, you start thinking about that as an insane option for a human being,” Depp said while promoting his latest movie, The Lone Ranger.
Depp, who spoke of similar things to Rolling Stone in June, continued:
Are there quieter things I wouldn’t mind doing? Yeah, I wouldn’t mind that. I wouldn’t say that I’m dropping out any second, but I would say it’s probably not too far away.
Sure; but with at least three movies in the pipeline – the Rob Marshall musical Into the Woods (fine) and sequels to Pirates of the Caribbean (why?) and Alice in Wonderland (seriously, why?) – “probably not too far away” should be taken lightly.
So should that thing I just said about self-awareness, come to think of it.

In the interview, the 35-year-old went on to call Korean vodka is his “best friend” and his “vice partner,” though he also admitted that he’ll drink “whisky, vodka, tequila, whatever.”

Glee‘s Cory Monteith has passed away.
The 31-year-old actor was found dead in his room on the 21st floor at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver, Canada. He had checked into the hotel on July 6 and was due to check out on July 13, according to Vancouver Police.
Monteith’s reps sent Celebuzz the following statement:
“We are so saddened to confirm that the reports on the death of Cory Monteith are accurate. We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss.”
Monteith, who played the adorable quarterback Finn Hudson, spent time in rehab early this year, checking into a substance addiction treatment facility in April. After a short month, Monteith left rehab in May and laid low with co-star and girlfriend Lea Michele during a holiday Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Monteith had a long history of drug addition. At 16 he battled drugs and alcohol, but credited turning his life around due to an intervention three years later at 19.
Monteith’s publicist Melissa Kates also confirmed the sad news, to USA TODAY. “We are so saddened to confirm that the reports on the death of Cory Monteith are accurate. We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss.”
An official cause of death is yet to be determined, but police say there were no immediate indications of foul play. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
