Katy Perry made an appearance on Good Morning America on Friday, and during the show she revealed the cover art for her new album, “PRISM”, and shared a big announcement.
Katy debuted the video for her latest single, “Roar”, on Thursday, and Friday morning she announced that she’s got a new contest open to all schools across the U.S.
To enter, students need to put together a two-minute video showing their biggest “Roar” and submit it to GoodMorningAmerica.com between Sept. 11 and Oct. 1, and Katy will pick the winner on October 1st.
What’s the prize? Katy will show up to the winning school on her birthday (Oct. 25) to put on a live concert, which will be broadcast live on GMA.
If you missed it on the JUMBOTRON on @GMA, here it is – my #PRISM album cover, shot by the wonderful Ryan McGinley!” She tweeted after the show with a photo of the new artwork. “PRISM” is out Oct. 22.

Her face said it all.
Beyoncé got a big surprise when her husband, Jay-Z, walked out on stage while she was performing in Philadelphia on Thursday night.
The singer was in the middle of introducing her dancers and band when he snuck up behind her, grabbing her around the waist and planting a kiss on her cheek. As the crowd went wild, he rushed off stage.
Beyoncé posted the pics of the sweet moment on her tumblr blog, and it’s clear by the expression on her face that it wasn’t a pre-planned appearance by her husband.
Jay-Z and the couple’s daughter, Blue Ivy, have been accompanying Beyoncé on some of the dates of her Mrs. Carter World Tour.
Girl Lights Herself On Fire In Hilarious Video After Trying Out Miley Cyrus’ ‘Twerking’ Moves (Watch It!)
Miley Cyrus’s “twerking” craze has caused one poor girl to set herself on fire.
YouTube user Caitlin Heller “tried making a sexy twerk video” for her boyfriend, but it didn’t quite work out.
“Things got a little too hot,” she says in the description for the video — which has close to a million-and-a-half hits on the video-sharing site already.
Caitlin attempted to take the dance craze a step further — mastering it upside-down. Unfortunately she tried the move in front of a door, and you never know who’s going to show up.
Miley, a professional twerker, showed off her moves at the MTV Video Music Awards two weeks ago during a racy performance with crooner Robin Thicke (watch it here).
At least Caitlin kept her tongue in her mouth the whole time.
Katy Perry’s latest single, “Roar”, has knocked Robin Thicke’s summer anthem “Blurred Lines” from the top of the Billboard Hot 100 after 12 weeks at number-one.
The video for the song, which is Katy’s eighth chart-topper, was released on Thursday.
The singer’s last album, “Teenage Dream”, set a Billboard record for Katy as she became the first woman to land six Hot No. 1 singles from a single album. “Teenage Dream” also made its debut at number one on the Billboard 200 when it was released in 2010.
Katy’s new album, “PRISM”, is expected on October 22, and on Friday (Sept. 6) the singer will appear on ABC’s Good Morning America, when she’ll also reveal the cover artwork and make a big announcement.

R&B singer Brandy cut short a gig in South Africa over the weekend after very few people showed up to watch her perform.
As part of the celebrations of Nelson Mandela Sport and Culture Day, Brandy was booked to appear at the First National Bank Stadium in Johannesburg on Saturday. However, only a small crowd of about 40 people filled the 90,000-capacity arena.
Brandy wound up performing just two songs before walking off the stage.
The small turnout has been blamed partially on a lack of advertising.
South African singer Kabomo, who was at the stadium, wrote about the incident on Twitter: “I have no words for what I just witnessed… Brandy performed to an empty stadium. With the stadium lights on. She sulked after two songs and walked off…
“It was late. People didn’t know there was a concert after the games. No one knew Brandy was around. Maybe a 40 people audience… There are more people there on a random Tuesday… Depressing.”
Brandy has sold over 30 million records worldwide, to date.

Funnyman Fred Armisen is to direct a new Kings Of Leon concert movie for the American Express Unstaged series.
The former Saturday Night Live star and his team will capture the Sex on Fire rockers onstage during their upcoming Shepherd’s Bush Empire gig in London on August 9th.
It will be streamed live by YouTube.com and Vevo.com.
The filmed concert will be the 13th to feature as part of the American Express Unstaged initiative, which teams top music acts with quirky directors – Steve Buscemi most recently directed a Vampire Weekend gig, while David Lynch took charge of a Duran Duran show in 2011.
The series began in 2010 when Terry Gilliam directed an Arcade Fire streamed set in New York City.
Legendary record executive Clive Davis has ‘come out’ as bisexual in his new memoir.
The music mogul, who launched the careers of stars including Whitney Houston and Janis Joplin, opens up about his sexual orientation in his latest book The Soundtrack of My Life.
Davis, who has married and divorced twice, writes candidly about his first same-sex encounter with a man he met at the famous New York City club Studio 54 some 30 years ago.
He recalls, “On this night, after imbibing enough alcohol, I was open to responding to his sexual overtures… Was I nervous? Absolutely. Did the heavens open up? No. But it was satisfying.”
The 80-year-old music veteran also reveals he was in a “monogamous relationship” with an unnamed male doctor from 1990 to 2004, and he has been dating another man for the past several years.
He writes, “Bisexuality is misunderstood; the adage is that you’re either straight or gay or lying, but that’s not my experience. To call me anything other than bisexual would be inaccurate.”
Davis has also discussed his bisexuality in an interview on talk show Katie, which is due to air on Tuesday – the same day his autobiography is released.
He tells host Katie Couric, “I’m still attracted to women… You don’t have to be only one thing or another (straight or gay). For me, it’s the person.”
