Not that they weren’t fabulous to begin with, but having a massive spread in Fabulous magazine makes 1D’s fabulosity even MORE legit than EVER!!
One Direction stars in the mag’s special “American Idols” themed edition, coming to newsstand THIS SUNDAY!!
As you can tell by their attire in the photos (above), Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson showed up to the Fourth of July party several months late.
But we’ll forgive them because, as
Liam Leeroy would say, they’re per-fect!
You’ve probably stopped reading at this point because you’re so mesmerized by the lads’ stars and stripes, so we’ll let you get on with it and view the rest of the spread (below)!

Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lawrence & More 2013 Cover Stars! Check Out This Year’s Magazine Trends HERE!!
This past year has seen both usual and unusual trends for magazine sales!
On the UNusual side, People magazine’s biggest-selling covers featured stories about real people instead of celebrities. And on the usual side, mags with Kim or Khloe Kardashian on their covers did super well!
Which just proves that people may not agree with the Kardashians and the things they do, but that doesn’t stop the public wanting to know what they’re doing!
And now that Jennifer Lawrence has admitted her love for the Armenian fam, it makes sense that both she and Kim would totally dominate the magazine stands of 2013!!
Here’s a breakdown of some of this year’s best selling cover stories:
For People magazine, an issue starring Cleveland kidnapping victims was their #1 seller, followed by a Jon & Kate Plus 8 cover and a story on the McStay murder case.
People managing editor Larry Hackett explained their readers’ need for a good story, saying:
“A life-changing story will do better than a celeb story, all things being equal. If you’re a famous person who’s not doing much of interest at that moment, you’re not going to sell covers anymore. People want a narrative, and they’ll take a narrative even if it’s about someone that makes many of us scratch our our heads and go, ‘Why do people care about them?’ They care because it’s a good story.”
As far as fashion-oriented publications go, Kim Kardashian’s April Cosmopolitan cover was the magazine’s biggest this year, selling 1.2 million single copies. Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, Sarah Jessica Parker, Beyonc and J.Law carried many glossies through their large September and March issues.
Lauren Conrad made a splash on her Marie Claire and Lucky issues, where she was featured as a fashion icon rather than a reality TV star. Blake Lively still trumped Lauren’s sales, however, and was the star of Lucky and People StyleWatch‘s biggest issues this year. And she was still a hit despite her lack of movie and TV roles lately!!
Vanity Fair‘s two biggest issues featured the late Princess Diana and Audrey Hepburn, displaying their readership’s interest in deceased stars.
Prince George was obvi a huge seller as well — but there were also some big names that sold a lot less than expected.
For instance, Jennifer Lopez‘s popularity seems to have waned, and covers featuring Jessica Biel, Heidi Klum, Katy Perry, and One Direction showed surprisingly lackluster sales.
As for 2014, predictions of future best-sellers favor big celeb weddings (ie. Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux, Kim and Kanye West, etc.). We’ll also probably see more of Kerry Washington, Shailene Woodley, and newcomer Lupita Nyong’o.
Check out some of the best-selling covers below!

Thousands of screaming teenagers took over the streets of central London Tuesday as One Direction debuted their much-anticipated documentary, One Direction: This Is Us.
The beloved British boy banders, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson, hit the red carpet amid teeny-bopper hysteria for the world premiere of their first 3D tour film in the famed Leicester Square.
An estimated 70,000 One Direction fans – hundreds of whom had camped out for days in advance – gathered in hopes of getting even just a glimpse of the teen idols, who stopped to snap pictures with their devoted Directioners and sign autographs.
Directed by Morgan Spurlock, the film goes behind the scenes of the five members’ rise to fame: starting from their humble beginnings, following their band formation by Simon Cowell on the X Factor U.K., to their soaring success as worldwide pop sensations and performing at London’s famed O2 Arena.
Cowell, as well as some of 1D’s fellow X Factor alumni like Little Mix, were on hand to celebrate the band’s big film debut.

The Boys Guide To 1D (AKA 1D 101)
- One Direction is made up of friends Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson. Learn these names. Be able to recite them from memory.
- The band came together after failing to advance on the X Factor UK. Do not get this confused with American Idol or Britain’s Got Talent.
- The band owes a lot to Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger. Both urged the band to reform as One Direction after their misfires on X Factor.
- The group’s first hit single was “What Makes You Beautiful”. This would be a good time to memorize the lyrics.
- Harry Styles dated Taylor Swift for a while. When taking sides over why they broke up, always defend Harry (and confess concern about his broken heart).
- Louis Tomlinson is the oldest member of the band. He’s 21, but never refer to him as “old” in front of fans.
- Collectively, the members of One Direction have over 25 million Twitter followers. Go make yourself one of them. Immediately.
- Their second huge hit was “Live While We’re Young” – The song came off of the group’s second album, Take Me Home. Don’t get it twisted.
- One Direction’s upcoming documentary is called One Direction: This Is Us. We recommend purchasing a couple of advance tickets and having them “accidentally” fall out of your wallet during casual conversation.
