Katy Perry made an appearance on Good Morning America on Friday, and during the show she revealed the cover art for her new album, “PRISM”, and shared a big announcement.
Katy debuted the video for her latest single, “Roar”, on Thursday, and Friday morning she announced that she’s got a new contest open to all schools across the U.S.
To enter, students need to put together a two-minute video showing their biggest “Roar” and submit it to GoodMorningAmerica.com between Sept. 11 and Oct. 1, and Katy will pick the winner on October 1st.
What’s the prize? Katy will show up to the winning school on her birthday (Oct. 25) to put on a live concert, which will be broadcast live on GMA.
If you missed it on the JUMBOTRON on @GMA, here it is – my #PRISM album cover, shot by the wonderful Ryan McGinley!” She tweeted after the show with a photo of the new artwork. “PRISM” is out Oct. 22.

Tina Fey returned to Saturday Night Live over the weekend to host the first show of the 39th season. One of the highlights of the show featured the former 30 Rock star in a digital short spoof of HBO’s twentysomething dramedy Girls, in which Fey plays new character Blerta, a woman from Albania who becomes friends with Hannah (played by Lena Dunham in the series and newcomer Noel Wells on SNL) and her gal pals.
During the spoof Fey pokes fun at Dunham by taking a shot at her age, consoling Hannah and saying, “It’s okay, you are only 15.”
Hannah replies, “No I’m not, I’m 24.”
“Twenty-four? What the f*** is wrong with you?” Blerta asks.
It’s not the first time Fey has poked fun at Dunham’s age. Earlier this year, she and fellow SNL alum Amy Poehler hosted the Golden Globes, and during the show’s opening they poked fun at several stars in the crowd, including Dunham.
“If they’re forcing you to do all that nudity, just tell us,” Fey said during comments aimed at Dunham. “Give us a signal … and we’ll call child services for you.”
Dunham had the last laugh though, beating both of the women in the Best Actress in a comedy category. She hit back with her own age comments, thanking them for “getting her through middle school.”
But Dunham tweeted her approval, writing, “The SNL parody of Girls was a true honor.”
She also complimented the women stars of the show, writing, “Very excited about the current lineup of SNL ladies. They are funny like whoa.”
Girl Lights Herself On Fire In Hilarious Video After Trying Out Miley Cyrus’ ‘Twerking’ Moves (Watch It!)
Miley Cyrus’s “twerking” craze has caused one poor girl to set herself on fire.
YouTube user Caitlin Heller “tried making a sexy twerk video” for her boyfriend, but it didn’t quite work out.
“Things got a little too hot,” she says in the description for the video — which has close to a million-and-a-half hits on the video-sharing site already.
Caitlin attempted to take the dance craze a step further — mastering it upside-down. Unfortunately she tried the move in front of a door, and you never know who’s going to show up.
Miley, a professional twerker, showed off her moves at the MTV Video Music Awards two weeks ago during a racy performance with crooner Robin Thicke (watch it here).
At least Caitlin kept her tongue in her mouth the whole time.
Katy Perry’s latest single, “Roar”, has knocked Robin Thicke’s summer anthem “Blurred Lines” from the top of the Billboard Hot 100 after 12 weeks at number-one.
The video for the song, which is Katy’s eighth chart-topper, was released on Thursday.
The singer’s last album, “Teenage Dream”, set a Billboard record for Katy as she became the first woman to land six Hot No. 1 singles from a single album. “Teenage Dream” also made its debut at number one on the Billboard 200 when it was released in 2010.
Katy’s new album, “PRISM”, is expected on October 22, and on Friday (Sept. 6) the singer will appear on ABC’s Good Morning America, when she’ll also reveal the cover artwork and make a big announcement.

Amanda Bynes was set to appear in court on Friday to learn her fate over the recent psychiatric hold that’s kept her in a California mental hospital over the last two weeks, but her doctors felt she wasn’t well enough to leave the hospital, so a Los Angeles judge went there to conduct a hearing.
Based on the recommendations of her doctors, the judge that Amanda remain in the psychiatric hold for another 30 days.
TMZ reports that according to California law, doctors’ requests in these cases are only granted if a patient is “gravely disabled as a result of a mental disorder.”
Doctors recently revealed that Amanda showed signs of schizophrenia and treated her with medication, but she isn’t acknowledging her problem, and that’s considered a big risk as she most likely wouldn’t continue taking the meds on her own if she’s released.
She was originally placed in a “5150” hold by police after they took her into custody following an incident where she used a can of gasoline to light a woman’s driveway on fire near her parents’ home in Thousand Oaks.
Amanda’s parents, Rick and Lynn Bynes, filed for conservatorship over her affairs on the day her mandatory three-day 5150 hold was extended by two weeks, and the couple was in court today for a hearing, where the judge granted them a temporary conservatorship until September 30. He also warned them not to make any deals regarding her life or finances without cousulting Amanda’s lawyer.
The couple will return to court on Sept. 30 for a full hearing to determine of the conservatorship should be made more permanent.
Amanda has previously accused her parents of trying to steal her fortune.
Late last night into the wee hours of the morning the official post-Oscar party took place. This is the infamous and notorious Governors Ball, held at The Hollywood Highland Center where the Oscar winners, nominees, attendees and all other invited guests were drinking, dancing, chatting, and having a grand old time. Some of the highlights of the evening and there were many, included celebs congratulating each other, discussing new projects and roles and sharing stories about cookouts gone bad, and the latest shenanigans that their children got into.
Some of these included: stars such as Anne Hathaway, Kerry Washington, Jamie Fox, Samuel L. Jackson all celebrating Quentin Tarantino’s Oscar win for best Original Screen Play. Denzel Washington sharing stories with Best Supporting actor winner Christoph Waltz. Channing Tatum showing Robert Downy Jr. a dance move or two from his dancing days ala “Magic Mike” as well as dancing on stage with Charlize Theron. Jennifer Lawrence in all her glory from winning an Oscar for Best Actress, and talking about how nervous she was to Zoe Saldana and Kevin Navayne. Oscar winner Halle Berry, and Kristen Chenoweth discussing Kristen’s hosting and closing duties for ABC. Salma Hayek, giving a hi-five to 9 year Oscar nominee Quvenzhan Wallis.
All in all a great night was had for both the winners and nominees, as all of Hollywood celebrated their biggest night of the year in Hollywood fashion. Big, bold and beautiful.

Most celebrities have had “a little work done” over the course of their careers, going for the usual nip here or tuck there to improve their appearance and keep themselves looking youthful enough to keep landing the big roles; and then there are the few dozen who have taken cosmetic surgery procedures to their most extreme.
Take former Dead or Alive singer Pete Burns, for instance. Known in the early 80s for his flamboyant, androgynous appearance, Burns has undergone several cosmetic surgeries — likening them to simply “buying a new sofa” and saying it’s something he’ll always keep doing because it’s no different than people just rearranging or redecorating their living room every once in a while.
He may enjoy it, but the rest of us see something a bit unnatural, to say the least.
The singer even had his own show in his native England: “Pete Burns’ Cosmetic Surgery Nightmares.”
Like Burns, the work done on some stars is obvious, while others it’s not, but it’s there.
Heidi Montag, for instance, had 10 procedures — including gargantuan breast implants — done in one sitting. She may have enhanced her body a bit, but she completely changed the way she looks.
Stars like Meg Ryan plumped their lips (for no clear reason), giving themselves permanent “trout pouts”; while others — like Priscilla Presley and Mickey Rourke — have made their faces, like Burns, a bit “puffy.”
And 80s teen star Jennifer Grey, known for her distinct nose, disappeared for years before returning to TV after a rhinoplasty. While her procedure technically wasn’t a disaster, it made her almost completely unrecognizable. While stars who’ve had all the facelifts and botox injections may look different than they did years or decades ago, we still recognize them. Not so with Grey though.
Those of us who have followed the careers of these stars for years or decades have only one question now: “What happened?”
Check out these stars and more who have taken too much of a liking to going under the knife…

Madonna has finally joined the many celebrities that post selfies to photo site Instagram. The Material Girl posted an image of herself drinking a Martini with the caption, “Cheers motherf***ers! I’m on instagram.”
The singer actually joined the social network last fall, but only this week began posting more personal images other than the few in-concert shots she previously posted.
The 54-year-old also posted an unflattering screenshot of her backside from her 2012 tour, with the caption, “Working on the edit of the live concert!”
That must mean a live DVD is on the way sometime soon.
Madge also went the ‘look at my cleavage’ route, posting a pic of hers after a workout. “Addicted to sweat!!!!!” she wrote.
And on Monday she got corny by tying the braids on her winter hat over her front lip. “Im thinking of shaving my moustache!!!!”
Madonna recently came under fire from Malawi’s Education Minister, who criticized the singer for claiming that her ‘Raising Malawi’ charity constructed 10 new schools in the African nation.
“The schools Raising Malawi claims to have constructed were already in existence,” Education Minister Eunice Kazembe told Britain’s Independent. “Raising Malawi only built 10 classroom blocks and not schools. People should know the difference between the two.”
Bruce Willis reprises his iconic role as police detective John McClane in ‘A Good Day To Die Hard’ directed by John Moore (‘Max Payne’) and written by Skip Woods (‘A Team’) and Jason Keller.
McClane this time around, finds himself in Moscow. Seems his estranged son, Jack (Jai Courtney) has been arrested for murder. McClane isn’t at all surprised; he believes Jack is a total screw-up.
In truth (and this isn’t a SPOILER) Jack is a CIA operative trying to protect a government whistleblower, Komarov (Sebastian Koch) from being killed.
Before father and son can hook up, they’re involved in an over the top car chase through the streets of Moscow that lasts around ten minutes (It felt like ten hours).
After that’s over, the two men spend some time yelling at each other, followed by a few moments of male bonding, as they try to protect Komarov Russian bad guys – there’s lots and lots of bad guys.
There are also lots and lots of shoot outs with big automatic weapons, along with vicious fights, a little torture and more car chases.
Get the picture?!?
I really wanted to love this film or at least be entertained, but unfortunately, neither of those things happened.
‘A Good Day to Die Hard’ has what you’d expect from an action film – It has action. What it doesn’t have is a good script and well defined characters; you truly don’t care about anyone. You just want the noise to stop.
Bruce Willis is always fun to watch but even he couldn’t save this film from being nothing more than two hours of non-stop excessive violence, with a twist you can see coming a mile away.
It’s for these reasons I gave ‘A Good Day to Die Hard’ 2 1/2 bagels out of 5.
The film opens on today on Valentine’s Day, Thursday February 14, 2012. If you’re planning on having a romantic evening, this is definitely NOT the movie to see.

There are stars and there are superstars, and Beyonce is definitely the latter. The singer attended the premiere of her documentary “Beyonce: Life Is But A Dream” at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City on Tuesday, and she was smoking!
The pop star wore a sheer Elie Saab Couture gown, which showed off some cleavage and her curvy figure. It was quite a departure from her Grammy look, a black and white jumpsuit with much less sex appeal.
Beyonce graces the cover of the March issue of Vogue and opens up about how motherhood has changed her life since giving birth to daughter Blue Ivy a year ago. She explained: “I just feel my body means something completely different. I feel a lot more confident about it. Even being heavier, thinner, whatever.”
Well, that confidence is shining through because she looks amazing.
The singer was joined on the red carpet by her sister Solange, who also rocked a fierce look at the event. She went sans pants with a white shirt and jacket.
Watch the video below and check out more photos of Beyonce and Solange on the following pages…
