Carole Middleton has been talked about almost as much as her daughter since news of a royal baby broke last December. What kind of a grandmother would she be? Would she be overbearing and too controlling when it came to Great Britain’s future monarch? Would she duke it out with Camilla over who was the better granny? The last one is a toughie, given that the Duchess of Cornwall is only a stepgrandmother (and a sore reminder of Diana’s absence during this exciting time).
Surprisingly, Carole wasn’t present when the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a boy yesterday at 4:24 pm local time. It was expected that the Middleton matriarch would at least be inside the Lindo Wing when it happened, but that wasn’t the case. Instead, the new family were able to spend a few hours together before making their big announcement.
Today, Carole and Michael Middleton posed for a few photos before walking into the maternity wing, much like they did a day after the royal wedding outside the Goring Hotel.
The grandparents spoke briefly of their visit afterwards. “He’s absolutely beautiful,” Carole said. ” We’re so thrilled.”
When asked for a name, Granny Middleton replied, “Absolutely not.”
It’s been reported that Catherine will spend a lot of time at her parents Bucklebury home, which boasts 7 bedrooms and a pool (it’s really hot over in England right now).
Members of the royal household were seen bringing a baby carrier and garment bag into one of the Lindo wing’s side entrances today, leading many to believe that the new family will leave hospital as early as this evening.
According to What Kate Wore, Carole donned Orla Kiely’s “Dancing Girls Tea” dress with Russell & Bromley pumps.
After we learned that the sun had set on George Clooney and Stacy Keibler‘s relationship (auditions are being held now for the 2013-2014 awards season), Us Weekly broke the sad news that C&K hadn’t had sex in months.
They hadn’t had sex in months,” a source squealed to the magazine. “He’s been in Europe, and she’s in L.A., and they haven’t seen each other in a long time. Some girls would be okay with that and just be happy dating George, but not her.”
Keibler, who was the latest in a long list of Clooney’s ladies, figured that their time was up.
“She knew he wasn’t looking to get married,” another source added. “But there was always that fantasy that he would commit. Sadly, it just ran its course.”
Clooney, who was seen in Lake Cuomo, Italy today, has made it quite clear that he’s not the marrying kind. His sister, Adelia Zeidler told New York Daily News back in November 2012 that a second walk down the aisle would never happen.
“I would say he probably will not get married… If he was going to get married he would want to be a husband and be somebody who would be there, who would have the time and the ability to focus on the family and the home and all of that,” she said. “And in the business that he is in, he has to be able to get up and go.”
Break out the scrapbook – it’s baby’s first set visit!
Claire Danes brought her six-month-old baby boy, Cyrus, along for a day of filming the third season of her hit TV drama Homeland in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Wednesday.
Taking a breather between shots, Danes, 34, doted on and kissed her chubby-cheeked little man, who is her first child with husband Hugh Dancy, 38. Later, the little one laid in the arms of a pal as Danes dedicated some time to an embroidery project.
When the cameras were rolling, Danes was back in character as Homeland‘s Carrie Mathison, the bipolar but brilliant CIA agent who’s committed her life to fighting terrorism. The critically acclaimed Showtime series took home three Golden Globes earlier this year, including a second best actress in a drama series trophy for Danes.
In her acceptance speech, she thanked her then-newborn son, who was in utero throughout the filming of Homeland‘s second season.
“I have to thank our son Cyrus, who’s upstairs with my parents,” she gushed. “Thank you for joining me throughout this whole process and being so game in fighting this war against terrorism.”
Unlike the Golden Globes, the Emmys like to retain a sense of dignity when handing out awards. Once that ends, though, all bets are off.
After the ceremony, held downtown at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live, stars dispersed to several different parties. Mick Jagger and Laura Dern attended HBO’s after party at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, while Sofia Vergara got Latina Girl Wasted at Fox’s bash downtown.
Let’s see what we missed in the photo gallery, shall we?
‘Rollergirl’ Heather Graham is 43 years old, and The Hangover MILF still looks damn good. Here she is attending the Metropolitan Opera’s production Of ‘Eugene Onegin’ last night in Manhattan in a Little Mermaid gown.
I see what you did there, Ke$ha.
I think you’re going to need a bigger size.
